The Nature of Knights Valley
Sonoma’s
Eastern Light
Knights Valley, named for a mid-19th-century army general, is Sonoma County’s warmest and easternmost AVA. Tucked against the wooded Mayacamas range, this narrow corridor channels marine influences from the Pacific, Russian River, and San Pablo Bay, creating cool morning fog, luminous days, fresh nighttime breezes, and a rhythm of ripening that unfolds with measured grace.
Rooted in
Ancient Soils
Rising between 400 and 1,000 feet in elevation, the estate’s steep slopes, with varied aspects, reveal four ancient soil types, including rhyolitic tuff, fossilized volcanic ash formed nearly four million years ago. These soils shape every wine, offering a geologically distinct terroir found nowhere else in the region.
Viticulture
for the Centuries
Guided by a humble family legacy of farming, our viticultural approach is long-term and deeply respectful of this pristine rural landscape. Organic practices and a deep connection to the land guide our stewardship. Thoughtful innovation and sustainable practices ensure the longevity of our vineyards and those who care for them now, and in the future.

The Seven Grapes
That Define Our Estate
Our plantings include the classic varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay, as well as Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, for our Draco Dormiere Bordeaux-style blend. Rootstocks, clones, and vine spacing have been matched to each block’s soil type, aspect, and elevation, and we vinify each block separately to maximize site expression.
