What inspires me most about Knights Bridge is how personal it feels. Our small, close-knit team works with the same commitment that went into planting the first vines, united by purpose, to create something that will last for generations.

Humble Beginnings

Jim and Essel Bailey grew up in a family of Michigan and Tennessee subsistence farmers. Scholarship students at prestigious schools, both brothers went on to excel in their respective fields through disciplined study and hard work. In 2006, the two teamed up with friends to purchase vineyard land in Knights Valley, united by their enthusiasm for great wine.

Building the Estate

With an eye to long-term stewardship, Kelley and Jim Bailey have acquired neighboring vineyard parcels, invested in a state-of-the-art Howard Backen–designed winery, and assembled an experienced and devoted team. The two have taken on a leading role in realizing the original vision shared with cofounders Menakka and Essel Bailey, and Cindy and Tom Costin.

My mother, Christobel, was a true global citizen who believed that the arts and education could bridge any divide. We named a wine after her as a reminder that beauty and learning can connect us all.
